A few months rolled into one post.

PHEW!  I am so sorry for not posting in so long.  I actually was going to aboard this mission.  I guess I never realized how many people read my blog.  So here it is:

I probably should start with our 20 week appointment.  On 4/27/10, we saw the most incredible image of our baby.  We got to see the 4-D image too!  So amazing!  Above is the picture.  We were not fortunate to have a friendly tech, so we felt blessed with whatever pictures she would give us.  This is our picture at 20 weeks.  I think I see my cheeks, Dave's nose, and a combination chin.  You can see the arms.  They are crossed over the face.  So fun!

We found out the gender of our baby that day.  It was just Dave and I (along with the not-so-enthusiastic tech).  It was very intimate, and just the way we liked it!

Well, then we got to register.  That was fun!

That night, we had some of our closest family and friends over to reveal the gender.  Poor things never got to find out until that night, and our appointment was at 9:00AM!

I had made arrangements with the bakery to be on stand-by for the call.  They were more than willing to accommodate.  The cake was part chocolate and part vanilla.  When the Grandmas cut into the cake, the color frosting in the middle would reveal the gender of our child.

Oh, yeah!  It was Dave's birthday too. Oopps!  He got a little shadowed that night, but he wanted it that way.  We sang to him, and then cut the cake.

I have a video of what happened, but unfortunately, my camera does not want to give it up.  When the Grandmas cut into the cake, they saw BLUE frosting!!!!!  WE'RE HAVING A BOY!!!!!!!!!

We have already decided on a name.  We are naming our son Owen David.  We are soooooooooo ecstatic!!!!!!!!!

On June 13, 2010, We had the most incredible milestone since we knew we were having a boy.  Our shower!!!!!!!  We were so fortunate to have so many friends and family to throw us such an elegant and rewarding event.  We received almost everything that we had ever dreamt of!  There were several surprises, and so many emotions that day.  Simply overwhelming!!!  Words cannot explain all of the excitement that went into that day.  So many people helped with our shower and made it the dream that I couldn't believe was happening.  Below is a picture of Dave and I at the shower.

Above, are the diaper cakes.  The smaller ones were the center pieces on the tables, and the larger one was the center piece for the gift table.  All of this talent and hard work were done by my sister, Jessica, my sister-in-law, Amanda and my good friend, Jaime.  We are loved.  Truly loved.  There was so much work that was put into these cakes.  Dave and I have broken them down and stored them so now we are ready for Owen to do whatever deed needs to be done.  BRING IT ON!!!

There are so many incredible moments of that day that I simply could not document them all.  Thank you to everyone who made the long trip from different towns, cities and states to be there.  Thank you to all of those who had spent so many hours of talent to create such wonderful gifts.  Owen is loved, and he will know that every day.  Below is the framed ultrasound picture of those who were present at the shower.  It will by hung up in his room.

So that leads us to what we have done today.  We have been (well, mostly Dave) working so hard to create the child friendly home that we dream of.  We have made great strides with Owen's room.  Oh boy!!!  We have the crib, but we are missing the changing table, dresser, armorie and glider.  We are too darn picky as to what furniture we would like, we simply cannot find the perfect furniture that meets our standards.  Only time will tell if we have to settle, or we get lucky.  Below is a picture of Owen's room.  The light dresser was mine as a child, but it will not stay in there for Owen's arrival.  It's simply there for lack of room.  Just another stepping stone to our new arrival.

So there you go!  That should cover everything up to this point.  Again, sorry it has taken so long.  We have been going to birthing classes, which I love!  We have been having appointments that have been assuring us that everything is going well.

Stay tuned!  It's going to be full speed ahead from here!
